Description
The TreeTag is a compact, solar-powered wireless monitoring device purpose-built for arborists, researchers, and agricultural professionals seeking accurate, continuous data on plant health. Equipped with a precision dendrometer, three-axis accelerometer, and environmental sensors, the TreeTag captures radial growth, lean angle, temperature, and humidity metrics in near real-time.
Using LoRaWAN® US915, the TreeTag transmits data up to 3 miles (depending on terrain), with default sampling every 5 minutes and uplink every 20 minutes. In case of network outages, it can store up to 8 years of data locally. Designed for decade-long field operation, it is powered by a hybrid solar system and capacitor, eliminating the need for battery replacements and ensuring sustainable, low-maintenance use—even under dense canopy coverage.
Installation is fast—under 5 minutes per tree—and the unit mounts securely into a 1.5-in. hole using a provided screw. Through the ePlant App, users can activate TreeTags, view live data, and manage large-scale deployments with ease. Whether in vineyards, urban forests, or ecological research sites, the TreeTag enables scalable, data-driven decisions grounded in precise biological insights.
