Description
The Teltonika RUTM54 (MPN: RUTM54000000) is a robust industrial 5G cellular router engineered for mission-critical applications requiring ultra-high-speed connectivity and reliability. This device supports both SA (Standalone) and NSA (Non-Standalone) 5G connectivity, delivering impressive download speeds up to 3.4 Gbps and upload speeds up to 900 Mbps, leveraging 4×4 MIMO technology for enhanced performance. For areas where 5G is not yet available, the RUTM54 is backward compatible with 4G LTE CAT 19/18, providing high-speed 4G connectivity with download rates up to 1.6 Gbps. Equipped with a Telit Modem, this router ensures powerful and reliable cellular communication. The RUTM54 is built around a MediaTek Dual-core 880 MHz MIPS1004Kc CPU and features 256 MB of DDR3 system memory, running on the RutOS, an OpenWrt-based Linux OS, which supports Busybox shell, Lua, C, and C++ programming, along with a provided SDK package for extensive customization. Designed for demanding industrial environments, the router includes 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports (1 WAN and 4 LAN) and supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ac (Wi-Fi 5) wireless standards with Wave 2 technology, offering data transmission rates up to 867 Mbps and supporting up to 150 simultaneous connections.
The mechanical and interface features of the RUTM54 highlight its suitability for professional installation. It is housed in an aluminum enclosure, with mounting options available for DIN rail, wall mount, or flat surface installation (requiring an additional kit). The unit measures 44.2 x 132 x 95 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 530 g. Connectivity is secured via multiple antenna connectors: 4 SMA for Mobile (LTE), 2 RP-SMA for Wi-Fi, and 1 SMA for GPS/GNSS, with all necessary antennas included. The router supports dual SIM slots (Mini SIM – 2FF) and 1.8 V/3 V, along with multiple eSIM options, ensuring carrier flexibility and redundancy. Powering options are robust, utilizing a 4-pin industrial DC power socket that accepts a wide input voltage range from 9 to 50 VDC. Furthermore, it offers a passive PoE Power Output possibility through the LAN1 port (Mode B, not compatible with IEEE802.3af/at/bt standards). Power consumption is low, rated at 4 W idle and 14 W maximum.
Advanced features include extensive network management and security protocols, such as WPA2-Enterprise (PEAP), WPA2-PSK, WPA-EAP, WPA-PSK, WPA3-SAE, WPA3-EAP, and OWE for wireless security. Firewall capabilities include port forwarding, traffic rules, custom rules, and TTL target customization. For industrial control and monitoring, the RUTM54 supports various industrial protocols, notably MODBUS TCP master/slave, OPC UA, Data to Server, Modbus MQTT GATEWAY, DNP3, and DLMS. Additionally, it integrates 1 digital output and 1 digital input on a 4-pin connector. The device also includes GNSS functionality for geolocation tracking. Comprehensive LED indicators provide status feedback for WAN type, Mobile connection type and strength, Ethernet port status, Power, and 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi operation. The Teltonika RUTM54 offers a high-performance, secure, and versatile solution for industrial networking requirements, leveraging the speed of 5G technology while maintaining robust hardware and software integrity.
